We’re marking the UN’s World Water Day and linking actions of young local water heroes with the launch of our Big Splash Contest this year. Please join us in this celebration of steps students are taking to better protect and conserve life-giving water !
The contest will run from World Water Day March 22 and close Sunday April 30th. Prizes will be awarded to the school and class sending the greatest number of water-protecting or conserving pledged actions from students. The Big Splash Trophy will go to the school achieving this honour and a set of coupons from Kawartha Dairy to the most responsive class. 3 donated prizes from Algonquin Outfitters will also be awarded to individual elementary students who make pledges to take actions with particularly heroic impacts. These students may be nominated by a teacher or enter as a home-schooling student. All the entries will be honoured with follow-up communications and in building a resource of student-created examples to inspire others in the future. Pledges can be uploaded through a form on our Water Heroes webpage , shared on our Facebook Page or emailed to; splash@waterheroes.ca
Teachers / parents can also acknowledge young Water Heroes taking action with a downloadable Certificate and promote the Big Splash program with this poster.
